thanks to my dad for sending this out, he scored it belhurst castle i believe, where this mabels brand is their house stuff, pretty cool idea, and the two ive had (also the porter) have been excellent. this is light for its abv, doesnt look super hazy or thick, sunny and bright to me with only light cloudiness under a puffy almost inch of white head, nice looking take on the style. aroma is juicy for cascade, possibly new york state grown, ive known their cascade hops to be fruitier than the northwest stuff we are all more accustomed to, and its a cool combination with the mosaic, which plays tropical, orange and coconut notes, very minimal bitterness to me, all super fresh on top of a relatively light multigrain base. nice fruit forward hop complexion starting early in the flavor, for me its meyer lemon, lime leaf, and fresh coconut, these hops go great together and there is no green burn or anything at all, it doesnt even have that massive dry hop aggressiveness so many from these parts do. i like the oats and wheat giving it some structure but also keeping it really dry. white wine and kiwi fruit as it warms, effervescent mouthfeel, and an almost refreshing property, uncommon in the style. very well made stuff, tidy ferment, intangibles all there, i have been impressed with these so far! thanks dad!
