Slightly cooled and poured in to a Spiegelau IPA glass. BBD of 17.AUG.2017.
Reddish-amber color with a big, three-finger foamy, slightly off-white head that dissipates slowly leaving spotty lacing. Has a yolky like haziness to it after finishing the pour. I wasn't expecting so much yeast at the bottom of a bottle of Pale Ale. A bit of a sweet floral and fruity aroma and slightly citrusy, though not intense (but it could also be my stuffed up sinuses from allergies. The wife said it was 'very hoppy.'). Taste is much hoppier and more like a true APA than from what I've come to expect from most German Pale Ales/IPAs. Slight sweetness upfront and in the middle, finishing with a citrusy bitterness that is really perfect for a low ABV Pale Ale. Drinks like a session ale, but a flavorful one. The body is thin, but that shouldn't be surprising, and carbonation is low, making it a perfect beer for the current warm weather.
Overall, an easy drinking Pale Ale with a decent hop kick at the end. Much better than some of the more widely distributed Pale Ales I've had here in Germany.
Edit: Had another one, which was a different batch I assume, due to a different BBD, though it was actually earlier. This one had some off flavors to it (nail polish). I adjusted the rating accordingly. The rating before was a little over 4. This probably accurately reflects the difference, as it was still a decent beer.
