From a 330 ml bottle (dated January 27, 2017) to a nonic. Reviewed from notes dated May 23, 2016.
A-The beer is quite murky, almost muddy in appearance, with a golden orange hue. The head is nearly white and sits about one finger tall. The foam is dense and retention is good.
S-The aroma is pretty sweet and suggests tree fruit like apples and pears, with a little bit of cider. There is a light grassy hit of bitterness and some cracker flavor too. It is not a terribly inspiring smell, but not awful.
T-The taste is less sweet and more bready than the smell would have you believe. I taste white bread, dough, and hints of barley grain and straw. Hints of tree fruit linger in the background.
M-The body is pretty substantial for a pale ale. The carbonation is creamy and it reminds me of a Belgian at times.
O-My search for craft brewing in the (BEAUTIFUL) tourist trap of Ronda led me here. This beer was the only one that appealed to me on a hot day in late May, but I'll be honest: it was not really worth seeking out. I'm glad to have tried it, but I'll stick with wine if I am lucky enough to make it back to Southern Spain again.
