Balen's took over the space of an old sports bar downtown Springfield. It was a location that has had some turnover, but Balen's will hopefully be there to stay.
The menu is decent, including sandwiches, burger challenges, and a local Springfield delicacy "horseshoe". This is your choice of meat placed on Texas toast and covered in fries and white cheese sauce.
As for the beer, the rotating taps are usually pretty solid. There is always a local beer or two along with some nice regional gets. It's probably the best place in Springfield to watch a game while having a nice selection of beer.
