Pours an effervescent Auburn/Chestnut with one finger of fast falling tan head. Minimal head retention & lacing
S: Plenty of barrel, figs, brown sugar. Barrel fades once warmer, more brown sugar
T: Brown Sugar, a bit of toastyness, figs, dark cherries, Bourbon & leafy hops at the edges. Some banana laffy taffy that seems butter suited to a Weizenbock. so, some deduction, also brown sugar, figs & Bourbon, oakyness & vanilla as this beer warms up. Finishes with some Bourbon edge, vanilla, brown sugar & faint leafy hops
MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation, some booze bite/warming. Nice slickness once warmed up
Wanted to love this. Anyone attempting this as a style around here, barrel aged no less has my love & respect. Time aged in the barrel not stated, that makes me wonder if a little more would've helped the cause. Nose needed to be more. I will still pick up another 4 pack if I see it
