Imperial Mexican-Style Lager
A versatile blend of horsepower and haul-ability. The El Camino was produced by Chevrolet using an existing car platform, but modified to make it more useful. In the same vein, we have modified the versatile Mexican-style lager to be bolder, have a touch more horsepower, and be more enjoyable to drink. With a blend of American 2-row barley, corn, and Vienna malt, our version is perfect for a tailgate or running the quarter mile at your local dragstrip. Let El Camino show you the way.

Crisp, clean, and easy drinking with some light caramalt in there for body and added complexity.
Its highish ABV for a lager never really reveals itself. More drinkable than a 7% Mexican lager sounds like it would be.

12oz bottle with a best by date of JUL 24 2021. Opened 3-26-21.
Imperial Mexican-Style Lager...?
1 finger white head, decent retention to 1/4".
Good clarity in a bright, golden lager. Slippery lacing.
Malty, sweet, cereal...fairly generic aroma as intended, nothing off.
Sweet, cereal malty flavor. Late floral/perfumey sweetness.
Light + body, medium + carbonation and some tongue-tingling heat. Quick finish with a lingering slight sweetness.
Okay.

L: Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly.
S: Has a malty-sweet aroma, floral hops, bready aroma as well.
T: Certainly follows the nose, tastes more like a malt liquor than a "mexican-style" beer, certainly tastes nothing like a modelo, corona, etc...
F:Medium-bodied, high carbonation, crisp feel.
O: It's worth the try, but the best thing about this beer is the 7% ABV.

Poured a medium yellow with a fair head, some nice bubbles. Taste is pretty good but a bit of Etoh comes thru. It's not bad but not one of real ale's top beers.

I added this beer as a malt liquor because there is no category for “Imperial Mexican style Lager”.
Look: Medium good, clear, spongy head that dissipates quickly.
Smell: Sweet syrupy malt, maybe some grain.
Taste: Very sweet, I would much rather drink some King Cobra or Mickeys. I don’t get why it’s called Mexican style? Marketing I guess.
This came in a variety pack but I would not buy it on it’s on. If you want some really strong lager don’t waste your money on this, just get some good established malt liquor.

Poured from a bomber glass into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. The head fades relatively quickly and leaves a little bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is very cereal heavy and slightly grainy. Along with these smells comes a little bit of a hay smell and a bit of caramel sweetness.
Taste -The taste begins with a sweet caramel and bready taste that is mixed with a bit of a very light fruity taste of pear and peach. As the taste moves forward some other flavors of whine grapes and a little bit of graininess comes to the tongue and with a touch of booziness, one is left with a rather smooth and clean malt liquor like taste to linger in the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is average. Alright for the taste of the brew, although a little lighter mouthfeel may have been slightly more fitting for the taste profile.
Overall – Pretty much a very smooth and malt liquor. I actually really like it. Not sure its worth $5.99 for a bomber when I can pay for a moderately more crappy version for ~ $2 or less. Overall it was a fun one to try, especially if you, like me, are a unpronounced fan of malt liquors.
