Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a hazed orange color with a one finger head of foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading to leave a good sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big of a tropical fruit and citrus fruit smell with lots of pineapple, mango, lime, lemon and orange. Along with these smells comes notes of a bready grain smell as well as a decent showing of grapefruit and a bit of herbal hop.
Taste – The taste begins with an orange and tropical fruit flavor mixed with notes of lemon and lime. As the taste advances the lighter maltiness of grain that is present upfront gets stronger in nature all while the hop tastes of grapefruit, herb, and a light pine grow stronger. Lemon and lime develop throughout, and with a lightening of the sweet, one is left with a nice citrus taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is lower. Overall, the feel is good for the style and makes for an easy drinker.
Overall – A nice citrus style IPA with a easy drinking and flavorful taste.
