TXPA is a Texan take on the most popular craft beer style in Australia, the Extra Pale Ale. We use a touch of rice and some fun enzymes to create a dry and refreshing ale packed with loads of tropical hop aromas, ranging from papaya to pineapple and back to passion fruit with a splash of peach. Super clean and extra crisp, TXPA is sure to be your go to pale ale this fall and beyond, and you don’t need to leave the hemisphere!

12 oz. can poured into nonic
(best by Sept. 4, 2026 printed on bottom of can)
L: pale yellow, SRM 1, topped by 1/2-inch head of soapy-bubbled white foam that dissipates quickly; no major sticking or lacing; keeps a loose collar of foam with huge bubbles, just a piece of skin
S: grapefruit, onion, green onion ... it has an almost umami sense to it, like mushrooms or meat frying in a pan; some bready malt aroma but the hops dominate, it's got a kind of cornbread with jalapeno in it note or maybe biscuits with green onions baked in
T: grapefruit, pink grapefruit peel ... something about it screams "pink grapefruit" ... with an onion-hops finish; mild sweetness balances it and tries to show upon the development, but it's predominately hoppy and bitter with the malt flavor showing up as biscuit or bread dough, nothing sweet
F: lightweight, fairly crispy ... it's on the thin side, but it works fine
O: very solid with the hops being fully present yet not overly bitter while the malt plays mostly a balancing role in the background; the use of rice in the mashbill seems to have tamed what would otherwise be a strong biscuit-malt presence, and I like the variation ... it does seem to give it qualities advertised on the can "extra pale," "super clean" and "extra crisp"

A: Pours a brilliantly clear golden/yellow color. A bubbly white head rises to about two fingers at first. Though that quickly recedes to a ring.
S: Citrus, kind of tropical, berry/melon fruit salad in the nose. Not much else, but enjoyable.
T: Up front, loads of citrus and juicy fruity salad flavors. A cracker, almost toasted malt character (enjoyable from the rice I assume), and a great lingering bitterness. This is bright, and well balanced.
M/O: A light to medium body. Effervescent carbonation that is super spritzy and clean. After some initial fruity hop sweetness, this finishes wonderfully dry. Which all leads to something really enjoyable to drink, that I can down in big gulps.
A really well done Pale Ale. Everything is balanced, and the finish is beautifully bitter, clean and dry. I will be getting more of this, and it might be a new staple for me. Also, with the breweries description of using "some fun enzymes" to create a super crisp bite, has me thinking of the "Brut IPA" style This would certainly fit into that for me. And a good one at that.

Yellowish gold pour, small white head. Nose is tropical.
Taste sees mango, pineapple, rice, citrus, and light kilned malt. Light mouthfeel. Finish is dry citrus.

Pleasant surprise. Tasty, yet mild compared to some pale ales. Crisp and clean with light tropical notes. Lands nicely between juicy ipas and crisp pale ales. Very easy to drink, especially on a hot summer day. Will definitely buy it again.
