On cask at the Real Ale 16th anniversary party. Cask to tulip.

Look- Deep brown, quite opaque. Two fingers of beige head stick around for quite a while, no lace.

Smell. Interesting. Strong fruity aroma, soft banana perhaps. Dark roasted grains round it out. Sweet.

Taste- Again, very intriguing. Starts light, mango-pine. Middle brings out dry patent, cola, and espresso. Finishes dark, lemon/flowery/char. An odd mix, but it actually works pretty well and I like it quite a bit.

Mouthfeel- Light-medium body, dry, very clean. Smooth, soft carbonation.

Overall- Don't know quite what to make of it, but I definitely like it. Unusual take on a porter, but hey - why not? Worth trying.
