Poured from a 16oz can with a date that may say August, (kind of an inkjet skew issue).
Pretty yellow, but maybe I am biased from the name. decent head, minimal carbonation shortly after pour.
Sweet malty, lager-like smell. But the taste is ale, almost balanced, but a little on the malt side.
Decent beer. No real bad notes.
On the nitpicking front- Can says "Brewed in Hartford CT" but I know the brewery is in Rocky Hill CT (I've been there). Then on the side of the can it says "Brewed by Stony Creek Brewing, Branford, CT". WTF?

From a can.
A mildly hazy yellow with a gorgeous, dense offwhite head with great retention and lacing, this looks great. The nose is a blend of citrus and vaguely tropical flavors, with passionfruit, hibiscus, a touch of melon present. A mild caramel and wort like sweetness are present too. The palate opens with a blend of citrus notes, chalk and a moderate sweetness not unlike pulp heavy OJ. Medium light in body, the chalk and sweetness detract from the flavor profile. Drying, mildly vegetal on the finish. Decent.

I really, really, wanted to enjoy this one but after every sip I felt like it was trying to be something that it just couldn't quite reach. The look pours a beautiful yellow color, just as the beer name says, but that's where it's strengths start to diminish. The smell is alright, it's a standard pale ale scent, not very hoppy. The feel is immediately carbonation driven, but then a faint pale ale taste follows after. It then seems like it wants to be hoppy but then turns back and remains plain pale. It's too bad, this one had a lot of potential out of the gate...

16oz tallboy, sample from the brewery.
Three fingers of head off of a normal pour, lacing does a great job on sticking around, and the the clarity shown on this pale yellow golden hued brew is stunning. Citrusy-zesty hop nose with some bread crust edge, quite clean. Edgy citrus tones, with earthy vegetal flavors within. Bitterness is pretty high for an APA but as we know ... one persons IPA is another APA. There is still balance here, kiss of alcohol, and more dry breadiness in the finish.
Very enjoyable, love breweries that can have fun with a Pale Ale and not feel they are forced to can in an IPA. ;-)

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can of this beer poured into a snifter. The beer pours a bright clear golden hue with numerous active streams of carbonation rising to the surface. I have a fluffy bleached white head of 3 cm that fades slowly leaving windowpane lattice on my glass as it sinks down to the surface.
The aroma is some sweet caramel and also a lot of floral hop notes with a bit of citrus as well. The nose is mild but appealing for this beer.
The first sip reveals a light and crisp textured body with very fine and tingly carbonation. The physical traits make this very drinkable beer.
Flavor is slightly fruity and caramel and rolls to more citrusy fruit, mabye some peach and finishes with some mild bitterness. this finish is also VERY tingly which is the lingering experience of the beer on my palate. I dont get any booze on this beer and find it to drink very easy as I work through my glass. Solid offering from Hanging Hills!

Nice golden yellow. Thick head thins to a nice lace. Aroma is a bit grassy with hints of lemon. Taste is slightly bitter but sweetens up with those grassy tones and a slight bitterness. Very nice.
