I just paid $13 for a 4-pack at Trader Joe's as a holiday splurge and am fairly disappointed. TJ description suggested heavy fruit ad unique aroma. Not so.
It's just a hoppy 7.5% IPA with nothing special at all - I will not be a repeat customer.

16 oz can sent in from connecticutpoet. No can dating.
Slightly opaque golden beery glow with a creamy fingernail of head in my snifter.
Aromas are faint, but bring forth slight fruit rind, onion, pine, and garlic.
Flavors are much the same, with an emphasis on grapefruit rind. Slight pine, raisin, hints of onion, caramel malt, slight cracker.
Feel is crisp, creamy, and slightly resiny on the finish. Light alcohol warmth.
Overall, not really a New England IPA if I was pressed with the question. No can dating also makes this a hard one to judge. I'd say it's a fair beer, not really decent or good.

Tried this at Eli Cannon's in Middletown, CT. 1 finger head to decent lacing. Resin, and pine notes with some subtle grapefruit. Not bad overall.

Poured from a pint can into a stemmed goblet. Very good head with lacing, off white in color. The body of the beer is amber. Nice hops aroma, with some mild citrus notes. First sip reveals some citrus tang followed by bitterness, rated at 75 IBUs.. The three hops (Citra, Centennial & El dorado) used are well balanced, and for a regular IPA this one has a bit of a punch, with it's 7.5% abv. Would indulge again.

The centennial gets lost, nice solid beer, not spectacular but I would have again.

Good IPA. A couple interesting, subtle flavors, but doesn't have the "wow" factor. I would buy again if the store was out of my top ha;f dozen choices.
