On tap at 2 Bros. Pours a dark brownish black color with an inch of medium brown head. Some lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, earth, chocolate, leather and coffee. The taste is much like the aroma. I expected sweeter due to the name but it isn’t too bad. Definitely tastes like some chocolate cupcake batter along with roasted malts, earth and a bit of espresso. Dark cherries towards the end with more chocolate cupcake batter. Roasty finish with some bittersweet dark chocolate. Body is a bit on the lighter side. Not too sweet and a pretty solid Porter I’d buy again.

Picked up some 4 packs of this one at the brewery on release day. Pouring a cellar temp can into a snifter. The beer pours a deep cola brown color with a tan creamy and fizzy head of 1 cm. This foam fades to a sturdy edge layer and some wispy islands quickly after the pour.
The aroma is apparent from the pour with some dark chocolate notes and roasted malt. I get a faint whiff of tart cherries but no hops nor any hint of booze on the nose here.
The first sip reveals a silky textured beer with mild carbonation. The body is a little lighter than I expected but works with the beer.
The flavor is what is anticipated with a pretty heavy hit of roasted malt and some dark cocoa flavor. No sweet chocolate notes, which is one thing that I kind of expected from the cupcakes. I do get some tart cherry that lingers long after each swallow and a little brown sugar sweetness. Again no hops here and no real ABV detection in the flavor or physical traits. The beer is very easy to drink and I do like it, but a little thicker body and heavier chocolate flavor profile would really push this over the top as a great dessert beer.
