16 oz. Can
Canned On: 10/29/18
ABV: 8.75%

2 months on this can.

Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice cloudy orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, papaya, mango), piney. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, papaya, mango), piney. Medium body, ABV is hidden very nicely, nice little sweetness, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty nice brew.

Cans fresh from the brewery. Listed as hopped with Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, Apollo.
Excellent DIPA, lots of citrus aroma and flavor, some pine and tropical fruits. Smooth full feel, with enough bitterness to finish clean without being too juicy sweet.

Very nice, glad I could take some home!

Fairly poor head production, although retention, for what it's worth, is fine. Brew is only slightly hazy, pale lemon yellow, and translucent.

Nose is very juicy, with grapefruit, orange, and lemon, mango and pineapple, peach, berries, green leaves, and mint. More citrus than I would have expected, as tropical tones seem to dominate the current IPA market - especially with so-called NE IPAs.

Very different than expected on the palate! First off, it's shockingly soft and smooth. This is perhaps the first "NE IPA" outside of the big four (HF, Alchemist, Treehouse, Trillium) that really captures that softness to me. Not very lively, but not quite syrupy as some - in particular, old-school - DIPAs can sometimes fall to.

Plenty of malt on the palate, with sweet honey, cracker, and white bread. Hop tones are layered on top of this, like orange marmalade on bread. Wildflower honey, mandarin orange, peach, mango, lemon. It's all very soft, though, nothing screaming "HOPS!" at your tongue.

This is a surprisingly excellent DIPA. The soft mouthfeel really surprised me, and it took a moment to adjust, but once I did I found it very enjoyable. The flavor profile, while delicious, is perhaps not quite up there with the best, and honestly is a little shallower than the nose, which I found much more nuanced. Still, this is a very, very good beer, and is another example that shows they really know how to brew excellent IPAs.

Definitely a lot of peach, papaya, mango, orange, grapefruit, etc in the smell and taste. The best one I've tasted from them so far...

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/24/2018. Pours moderately hay/cloudy deep golden amber/slight orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, green pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, green pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, green pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 8.75% after the finish. Overall this is an awesome NEDIPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not aggressive. Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Apollo hops. Awesome balanced mix of juicy, dank, and earthy hop complexity; great wheat/oat/malt balance, not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and well made style example. Loved the hop profile.
