Solid appearance for the style: completely opaque, with very good head production and retention.

Very hop forward aroma, but it's rather indistinct. There is a general citrus note, and an equally nebulous tropical note, along with some bright green herbs and pine.

Similar on the palate: it's really good, but it's difficult to explain what makes it so good in terms of individual flavors. Relatively high bitterness for the NE sub-style; low but noticeable astringency. Tasting notes of basil and oregano, orange and grapefruit, papaya, cracker, white dough.

Look: Hazy orange with thick foam head.
Smell: Not very strong, some alcohol present, along with some malt and flowery hops.
Taste: Some malt and herbs and grassy flavors in the background. Aftertaste is caramelized barley and grains.
Feel: Moderate carbonation, not too thick.
Overall: A pretty good example of an IPA.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy whitish yellow in color. It poured with a half finger high white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of lime and gooseberry are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of lime along with notes of gooseberries and lychee. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This New England-style IPA is dominated by aromas and flavors of Citra hops.

Copper colored with a half inch of creamy off white on top. Hazy complexion. Moderate lacing. There’s citrus in the nose. There’s a burst of tangerine flavor that’s tempered by light malt. The mouth is creamy and smooth.

Is this beer from "Fat Orange Cat Brewing Company" or "Dorchester Brewing Company"? New England IPA poured from a can into a Listermann's pub glass. The pour is pale gold and slightly hazy with two fingers of fine white foam. On the nose I get lemon, orange, grapefruit, and a little bit of lime.

Medium-light body with a delicate feel. There is a pleasant grainy sweetness up front and the hops are citrusy and not at all overpowering. The sweetness up front carries over the palate and keeps all the hops well in check. I get refreshing flavors of lemon curd, orange zest, and pineapple. The finish is dry and citrusy, but not very long-lasting. Other than that, there is nothing not to like about this beer.

Overall a pleasant beer. I had never heard of this beer or the brewer before these cans showed up at the bottle shop last week. I took a chance on it and was rewarded. I'd buy this beer again. Add this to the list of best cat-inspired beers right next to Listermann's "Hank the Dumpster Kitty".
