I've now had three Fat Orange Cats (actually, just one, and he was more my dad's cat, Kermit). But three of these brews. I've liked them all but the prices are a bit dear. I'm a middle class retiree.
This one opens like a scarier double should, only it is not that scary. A little clearer, darker yellow and with just a bit of lacing, it looked like a double. The aroma is not as pronounced as their New England style, as you would expect. But it smells a nice, hoppy, not too dirty smell. Just a tad of yeast in that smell. The taste is strong and boozy with malts showing under the hops. It is a pretty clean finishing double, but you know it was a bity boozy. It is interesting how much more boozy this tasted than the New England style one from these guys, which was so busy with other tastes that the 7.5% didn't seem boozy at all.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on August 17, 2019. Double IPA brewed with five different hops. Notes of citrus and melon. Slightly above average.

Very nice pale ale with a fair amount of lacing. Pours with a light haze, and on the nose its fruit dominant with mild yeastiness. Tastes delicious, dangerously chuggable.

16 oz. Can
Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice hazy orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, papaya, mango), piney. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, papaya, mango), piney. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty nice brew.

A: The beer is hazy amber yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head.
S: Light aromas of grapefruit hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of orange to go along with the grapefruit with hints of underlying caramel malts and piney hops, the latter of which are present in the finish. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp and juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the balance of grapefruit and orange citrusy flavors in the taste of this beer.
