Pours a hazy golden color with a medium creamy white head. Aroma is tropical & citrus fruit with some sweetness. Taste is tropical fruit with some hop bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel. Balanced beer, very good. All I can see is a 2024 on the can.

Little Christmas Cats decorate the label of this hazy orangish beer. It is a deep, dark, murky color with a medium white head. The aroma has a malty, fruity, sweet-like scent, mixed with some orange creamsicle notes. The taste is sweet up front, mixed with a spicy hop flavor in the midtaste. Full in body. Not bad.

Fat Orange Cat Baby Elves

Appearance: Comes in a can with Christmas kitties on it, wearing Santa hats. How could you go wrong? Ale appears very hazy, can’t even shine a light through it. A pretty orangish yellow that reminds me of these “lunchbox” mixed drinks I used to make in college. Has a nice even head that did not build up quickly; it almost breathed life into its own and sat and chilled above its murky depths.

Aroma: citrusy and floral. Was hard to get a really good gauge on the scent, between my stuffy nose and the seafood chowder wafting in from the crack of my door.

Taste: citrusy: heavy orange and lime flavor, good amount of hops in there too. Surprisingly smooth considering the abv. I’d say this is a dangerous double IPA. I’ve had main stream tropical like IPA like beer hug and this just blows it out of the water. I’d much rather have this available at gas stations to purchase a tall boy of, along side whatever else I get .

Mouthfeel: light, tart, and tangy. Nothing else to note. Reminiscent of other double IPAs I’ve had.

Overall Impression: This is a solid double IPA that’s easy to drink, super tasty, and on par with other premium craft double ipas I’ve had. It doesn’t really stand out and shine like it’s cream of the crop, but it’s definitely in with the crowd and hanging out with some of the big dogs. Give it a try!

From the pint can, it pours a milky golden color with a nice white head that slowly reduces and leaves some lacing. The nose gets a nice citrus scent, followed by the mouth getting an initial citrus zing, followed by a nice, slightly sweet, orange and citrus flavor. Mild aftertaste.

Less sweet and more pungent than baby kittens with a garlic finish. Drinkable, rich, and smells great; but a bit disappointed with the taste. Goes down very easy for 9%

No canning date

Appearance: Pours a mostly hazy (10% clarity) medium golden color with a strong white head that lingers. SRM of 8. (4.00)

Aroma: Strong aromas of orange, pineapple, melon and rich mango underneath. (4.00)

Flavor: Strong flavors of rich orange, pineapple, and mango juice. Juicy, tropical, slightly sweet. (4.25)

Feel: Medium-bodied, appropriate carbonation. Finishes smooth with tropical melon and mango. Juicy. (4.25)

Overall: A Christmas-themed IPA. It's a Christmas version of their Baby Kittens IPA. Rich and ripe Mango juice flavors. Tropical. Sweet, but not to heavy and hides the alcohol extremely well. Rich and flavorful. This is wonderful. I should have known since it's from Connecticut. Excellent. (Rating: 4.18+)

First blush: For me this isn’t hitting like the og baby kittens. The galaxy feels out of proportion here and is registering as a sort of garlicky vegetal hop note. Cans are fresh but it’s not impressing in the same way as most fat orange cat offerings. Further proof positive that (for me) every double IPA would be better as a single IPA. But this grew on me with successive pours. The richness and body became more enticing. The subtle coconut butteriness of the original kittens came through and was amplified by this thicker iteration. That garlic note subdued and sweeter more appealing hop suggestions emerged with time. I guess the lesson here is to slow down and give things a second chance on your ever changing palate. This has to be the lightest and easiest drinking 9% dipa I’ve ever tasted. It has none of the boozy treacly sweetness that I personally detest about double IPAs. That alone elevates this beverage into the 4 out of 5 region on the scale.
