collaboration with skygazer, which i think is to say the same contract brew house that makes both beers just made this, still not wild about the way these present themselves, but the beer is wild. i think there is a couple of fruit versions of it now, but i had the one with banana, strawberry, passion fruit, guava, mango, and marshmallows. its a mess to look at, so many in this style are, dense rusty orange from the pint can, short white headed, sticky and gloopy. the nose is great though, surprised how much actual banana i can get, a rarity, and then strawberry and tart passion fruit support it well. there is enough milk sugar and residual malt sweetness to this to basically offset the sourness, it drinks no more sour than the passion fruit tang to me. guava and mango manifest more as tropical sweetness than identifiable fruits, but its okay because the banana stands out which is what i was hoping for. why so much grain weight? why not fermented a little drier? i know this kind of thing is trendy with the kids right now, but who the heck is drinking more than one of these? well done for this sort of thing, but really only fun as a share beer, a novelty. thick and sweet and filling and a little sloppy in overall quality, but the flavor is summery and cool, and the can art is choice. maybe its just the selection that has come to idaho, but i am ready for beers from both of these breweries that i would want to drink in some volume...

This is my new favorite... sour beer? It pours like orange juice and has bits of pulp still in it yet it's beautifully executed.
It all starts with modest citrus notes on the nose with a faint hint of hops. On the palate, it's overwhelmingly citric, in a good way, centered around orange and maybe tangerine, all very sweet and juicy and a clean crisp finish.
If you like a Radler, shandy, mimosas, or citric juices this is the beer for you. It's very easy drinking and very accessible, a real crowd pleaser while still hanging on to its sour beer roots.
