A: crystal clear; cola brown with mahogany highlights; 1 finger finely pored light brown head that receded to a wispy cap; OK lacing;

S: black coffee, deeply roasted grain, and a hint of bittersweet chocolate;

T: balanced between black coffee, deeply roasted grain, and bittersweet chocolate from start to finish; bittersweet chocolate dominates in the aftertaste; mild to moderate bitterness at the end;

M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; dry finish;

O: seems a little thin; otherwise, really good;

Chestnut colored with ruddy highlights and an oatmeal colored head that settles out quickly. Low aroma of cinnamon and cocoa, a hint of root beer. Flavors of cocoa and brown sugar, some toffee and a mild edge of charred bark. Even and moderate mouthfeel. Tasty beer.

Brewery Legitimus moved in near my hometown within the last couple of years. It is a nice little spot for both grabbing a pint or a growler. Counter Surfer is one of my favorites from them. It is a good brown ale. Nice to have a tasty brown in the IPA crazy times we live in!
