Our Double IPA made with locally grown white grapes and New Zealand-grown hops. Immediately following harvest last month a blend of white grape varietals were brought to the brewery (from the field on the other end of Music Vale Road) for crushing/de-stemming and pressing. Over 300lbs of those grapes went into the making of Near & Far in the form of pressed juice added mid-fermentation. Nelson Sauvin hops, with their natural white grape and gooseberry qualities dominates the dry hop but Riwaka and Motueka round out and soften things up nicely.

On tap at the Great American Beer Hall. Extremely floral in the nose. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Big juice on the palate.

Great beer. Alcohol taste is hidden by a smooth, full flavor.

I’ve been loving what I brought home from Fox Farm so far, and now it’s time to jump back into their hop game. I really enjoyed Burst, so I’m very excited to try this beefier take on a NEIPA, brewed with grapes no less. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about
Pours a hazy orange gold with 2 fingers of frothy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves nice lacing
The nose is very vibrant, with the grapes taking center stage. I’m picking up on aromas of tart white grape, lime zest, mango skin, crackery malt, passionfruit, weedy hops, white pepper, light honey, and papaya
It doesn’t have quite the same pop in taste, but I can’t complain about what’s here. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting lime zest, crackery malt, white grape, earthy hops, pineapple juice, white pepper, and light passionfruit. The swallow brings notes of white grape, lime zest, crackery malt, weedy hops, white pepper, papaya, mango skin, light grass, and pineapple juice
A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes mostly dry with a firm bitterness
I’m starting to think Fox Farm can do no wrong, as this is yet another winner from them

Cloudy, dirty gold color. Moderate head which settles to film. Some small blankets and multiple spots.
Weedy hop nose. A bit grassy.
Orange cream start but the hop completely takes over. Lots of carbonation with an average body. Long bitter aftertaste.

Can bought at brewery (canned 10/6/2021), drank Oct 25, 2021. A beautiful, elegant, intense, but in no way heavy double IPA. Saturated yellow. Good head. The nose is simply fabulous. What seems to be a trademark of Fox Farms: elegance and complexity in the aroma without being "in your face." The flavor layers are impressive, and it doesn't feel like 8.2% ABV. The addition of white grapes is subtle and adds a facet, doesn't dominate (in fact, I may not have been able to guess without the can revealing it). A very balanced, flavor-packed beer that, unlike many double IPAs, goes well with food (I had a pork chop with delicata squash).
