Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Lasting Brass in February 2018. A base of barley and spelt from Valley Malt (Hadley, MA) was fermented with a combination of both breweries’ house cultures. After fermentation in stainless and a period of oak-aging, we added black currants from Maple Lane Farm (Preston, CT) and blackberries. Naturally re-fermented and carbonated in the bottle.

This one pours a vivid purplish color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like jammy grapes, berry jam, red wine, black currant, blackberry, and oak.

This is incredibly jammy, in a great way. It doesn't overwhelm the base beer and the barrel character, which has a nice red wine, tannic, slightly funky character. The blackberry and black currant kind of meld together into one fruit beast, with one not outshining the other.

This is light bodied, jammy, and clean, with a decent acidity to it. It's quite drinkable.

This has a really nice soft jamminess to it that's obviously very inviting. It's very good.

On tap at Fox Farm. Pours a dark purplish red with an inch of pink head. Tons of lacing. The aroma is lots of tart cherries and grapes, red wine and blackberries. The taste is lots of tart berries followed up by dark grapes. Red wine towards the end with a tiny hint of balsamic vinegar and some jam. Fruity and sour. Medium body with a dry mouthfeel. This is definitely a sour worth seeking out. Well done.
