Refluent, our West Coast-Style Pale Ale, is a nice reminder for some of us that the classic American Pales and the qualities they put forth are never going out of style. When kept cold and consumed fresh, these beers are an absolute joy.

Gifted by Woodchipper, source and date are prolly same. In my kitchen this ipa is a bright yellow with a slight murk. Aroma is lemony, piney. Taste is citrusy, lemon, and some pine bitter in the finish. This is really good: light, bight , refreshing citrus and WC bitter. Hitting the right notes with me today!

Purchased cold today at the source, kept cold. Poured from a 16 oz can dated 03/19/25 to a Nonic at fridge temp.
The body is bright yellow and slightly hazy but not so much that you can’t see rising bubbles far into the glass. The 1”/25mm head is clean white and laces well.
Aroma is citrus and slight pine.
Taste is similar with citrus but the pine or resin character is stronger, but not like an old traditional West Coast Pale Ale. Tasty nonetheless. There is quite a nice very dry finish to this beer. The Very drinkable at 5.8%
The mouthfeel is light to medium and the carbonation is spot on.
This is a really good beer, but I feel it's a little mis-labeled as a West Coast-Style Pale Ale due to the citrus notes and the slight haze. My ratings were a little torn between "rating to style" and rating if I liked it blind to style.

16 oz can,dated 7/17/24

Pours a slightly cloudy light yellow color, with white head. Hop aroma of citrus zest and also a little floral and grassy. Taste is similar, with a slightly bitter finish. Thin to medium bodied.

Hazy golden color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of earthy, herbal hops with a touch of malt sweetness.

Taste is hop forward but not overly so, citrus plays a strong supporting role and malt has just enough presence to balance things out. Finish is crisp and clean, aftertaste is quick and dry. Very refreshing.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Fairly simple flavors with good balance. My overall impression is one of respect for the skill in crafting a first rate daily drinker.

This one pours a mostly clear orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like citrus, pine, weed, a touch of biscuity malt, and orange zest.

This is a very nice take on a lower ABV West Coast-style hoppy beer. There's very little malt character, save for a touch of sweetness. There's a clean, herbaceous and weedy bitterness, with orange, lemon, and grapefruit citrusiness.

This is light bodied, clean, and very crisp, with a wonderful drinkability.

Very few breweries care about West Coast style IPAs these days, and an even smaller portion of them are caring about West Coast-style pale ales. I'm loving Fox Farm for so many reasons these days.

Poured from a can (21Jul2021) into a sort a tall wili glass?

L: pours a very turbid orange gold (srm) with a very vibrant and dense white head that slowly fades, leaving some dense lacing as it does. Medium+ visibly carbonation, keeps feeding a great fingernail+ of head

S: very nice “classic” citrusy fruit and pine nose, not bursting out of the can but incredibly pleasant to stick my nose in. Grapefruit the primary fruit note I’m getting, on the pithier side. There’s a great earthy/piney bitterness to it as well, almost that kind of sticky/dank bitterness if that makes sense

T: follows the nose very well, fruit at first with that earthy/piney character quickly following. On the fruit side get pithy citrus, grapefruit - some orange as well, slightly sweeter (by comparison) note for contrast against the grapefruit. Toward the middle that piney character takes over, imparts some pleasant bitterness through the medium+, rather crisp finish

F: medium- body, medium/medium+ carbonation, very nicely drying

O: incredibly well done west-coast style APA, delivers those classic grapefruit and pine notes you want
