We designed this new Pale Ale around two intriguing hops - Belma and Meridian. Both are relatively new (in general and to us) but seem to fit perfectly with our approach to hop-forward ales. The intersection between the two varieties lies in the realm of mixed berry qualities (strawberry, currant, concord grape). You’ll also find lemon zest, melon and just ripe peach on the complimentary side to round things out.

Thanks to Roy_Hobbs for this one as part of NBS BIF #15, 16oz can (dated 3/9/22, I think) poured into 12oz tulip. Poured a fully murky dark yellow/light orange color with about an inch-and-a half of white head that had moderate retention and lacing.

The flavor and aroma were both fairly typical for the style; no grain, lots of frooty hops that didn't really have a focus.

The body was as expected from the style; light, mostly smooth (a light touch of coarseness at the back), and with a medium finish, Drinkability was OK, but I wasn't left craving another. Overall, another average murkbomb.

This one pours a moderately hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This one smells like tropical hops, pine, melon, and strawberry.

This tastes pretty dry and crisp, with some dried strawberry and distinct melon rind notes, alongside grapefruit pith, and almost woody bitterness, and some sweeter tropical characteristics.

This is light bodied, crisp, clean, and very drinkable.

This has some interesting and unique hop characteristics, and I enjoyed it.

16oz. can served in a tulip nonic. Pours a dull, milky yellow with a hazy clarity and a loose, 1/8th inch, off-white head that slowly dissipates. Nose is extremely subdued - maybe a hint of citrus and pale malts. Taste follows nose; however, it comes off somewhat bland. Mouthfeel is light in body with a mild, even carbonation. Overall, not much character to this. A cask offering might make it a little more redeemable.

Hazy light golden color with white cap and lacing.

Fairly sharp herbal hop hit on the aroma and heavy on the citrus as well.

I get a light lemony like citrus citrus note on entry that holds all the way to the finish. There is a solid malt base here but I get little malt flavor due to the heavy citrus cover. Finish is short and clean.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

Very good NE style Pale Ale.

Pours a light hazy golden. White head. Aromatic freshly cut lawn, fresh herbs, sage perhaps. Flavorful and dry. A little dank in surprisingly a good way. I enjoyed this one.
