This round of Roam doesn’t highlight a single hop variety but rather an intriguing blend from Freestyle Hops - not much Kohia Nelson was sold and we’re thankful to be able to work with it. The blend begins with a carefully tuned selection of mid-harvested varieties designed to highlight Freestyle’s unique terroir. But that’s just the start - New Zealand grown passionfruit is also incorporated into the blend. The fruit is dried, seeds removed and mixed with the hops prior to pelletizing. The result is a delightful fruit character that’s cohesive and well-integrated. Think of it as an accent or a gentle turn of the dial for what is already working so well for the blend.

On tap at Armsby Abbey in Worcester, MA.
This one pours a soft looking hazy orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like dried passionfruit, melon, guava, spicy and grassy hops, and sugar cookie.
This is a really cool take on all Nelson-hopped beer. There’s the more typical white wine-ish flavor, but there’s also loads of melon and some passionfruit and lime. There’s a soft bitterness and just a hint of malt sweetness.
This is lighter bodied, and very soft, with a nice dry finish.
Fox Farm always brings the heat.
