It’s been four years since we hosted our good friends from Schilling Beer Co. (Littleton, NH) to make a batch of beer. In eager anticipation of their upcoming Oktoberfest (one of our absolute favorite events) and their 10th Anniversary we agreed it was time to see what could emerge from a collaborative effort once again. Introducing Einfluss - a Landbier that draws inspiration from the lagers of Franconia but is made with 100% local malt including a hearty dose of Triticale, a wheat/rye hybrid grain. The name is a nod to that German influence and celebrates our shared connection to New England’s Great River, the Connecticut River. For those that haven’t visited Schilling we urge you to find time for a visit to the North Country - situated on the rushing Ammonoosuc River, a tributary to the Connecticut River, it is one of the most scenic breweries you’ll find. We find ourselves on the opposite end of the Connecticut within the Eight Mile River Watershed. Between us lies the two maltsters and farms that helped bring the beer to life Valley Malt (Holyoke, MA) and Thrall Family Malt (Windsor, CT) - both are situated in the famously fertile valley at the heart of the river. Einfluss puts that beautiful grain front and center with the Triticale lending subtle spice and earthy undertones but at just 4.8% it remains remarkably drinkable. It’s a beer uniquely suited for the warm days and cool nights ahead.

Pours clear, gold in color with one half inch head. Taste is brown bread, honey and toasted malt. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly . Nice and bready lager. Good with one.

16oz. Can served in a willibecker. This beer is striking in the glass. Copper colored with a translucent clarity and a creamy, quarter inch, off-white head. Nose is grassy and earthy with a hint of noble hops. Taste follows nose with a light breadiness to the flavor profile and a hint of lemon in the background. Mouthfeel is light in body with a pleasant, even carbonation. Overall, delicious and drinkable.
