Presentation: 12 oz. brown bottle with no dates. Served in a tulip glass.
Appearance: It's pure black, with a tan one finger head that goes away pretty quickly leaving some good lacing all around the glass.
Smell: The aroma is not that strong. There are sweet notes of raisins, oatmeal and brown sugar with a hint of coffee beans in the background.
Taste: It's sweet and not bitter at all. It starts off with some syrup-y malty sweetness and a hint of smoke and roasted malts in the background. The coffee taste is more of an aftertaste towards the end as the beer warms up and is not really that present, which is a shame.
Mouthfeel: It's smooth, creamy and just light enough to remain very approachable but strong enough so as to not be boring. It's a nice, balanced texture. Carbonation is medium-high.
Overall: At it's foundation it's a good porter with great looks and a very nice and balanced mouthfeel. The barely there coffee aroma and flavors were disappointing though.
