An interesting first offering from (one of) Calgary's newest enterprises. Beer aside, their branding is pretty damned lovely.
Anyway, pours amber-ish; not much head. There's a pineapple odor here--but it's a kind of soft, candied pineapple, set off against a decent malt base and some citrusy hops. The pineapple is largely absent from the taste, which is guided by the one-two (mild) citrus/piney hop and an unexpectedly beefy malt backbone. Balanced carbonation, but the body is a bit heavy considering the "session ale" designation.
Still: a very nice first effort from these fine folks. I wish them all the best.
