Pours a dark orange, Slightly hazy, with two fingers of thick white head
smells of some sort of citrus fruit rind. Perhaps Grapefruit. Also get a some pine resin.
Taste follows the nose, first comes the grapefruit which quickly gives way to the pine resin and doughy malt flavours.
Overall a nice IPA, very drinkable for the ABV

20oz pint at Arcadia on the edge of YEGDT. 9 hads and no reviews - come on, Cowtown BA users, step it up already!
This beer appears a clear, dark orange-brick brown colour, with one skinny finger of wispy and faintly bubbly ecru head, which leaves some dripping paint swath lace around the glass as things slowly sink away.
It smells of gritty and grainy caramel malt, muted domestic citrus rind, a bit of free-range ashiness, mild earthy yeast notes, and some weak leafy, weedy, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, candy sugar, sweet orange and red grapefruit flesh, a further dark orchard fruitiness, and more understated leafy, herbal, and floral verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly benign in its complacent frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and mostly smooth, nothing really becoming a cause for concern here. It finishes off-dry, the lightly toasted and biscuity malt holding fast.
Overall - this is very much a red IPA, what with the big malt profile, and generally subdued hop character. Easy to drink, no sign of the elevated ABV, but perhaps just a bit too sweet for this aficionado of the style. Always nice chatting with the employees at this establishment, so I guess that helped.
