A brew to celebrate 5 years in the craft beer world here in Cowtown.
Appearance - Pours a cloudy gold with two fingers of bubbly white head.
Smell - citrus and tropical hops, sourness, bready malts, hint of funk, and earthy yeast.
Taste - citrus and tropical hops upfront. The sourness come through next but is not too tart which I like. The funk and bready malts come through next. The brew is rounded out by the earthy yeast.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes slightly tart and sour with the hops and malts lingering.
Overall - A nice balance between sour and hops. For me, this was the right amount of sourness but for some this may not be the case. I'm digging this brew. Cheers to 5 years Banded Peak!
