"Vibrant/Dank/Aromatic
A brew for the Guardians of the Ice organization. A non-profit organization bringing awareness of the constant retreating of the Columbia Glacier. A neat idea as $ 2 from every 4 pack goes to help this organization with its mission.
Appearance - Pours a cloudy amber with four fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - earthy, piney, citrus, floral, and weedy hops. Pine resin, grapefruit and citrus peel come through next followed by the bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy, piney, citrus, floral, and weedy hops upfront. The pine resin, grapefruit and citrus peel come through with a nice bang. The bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the hops, pine resin, and grapefruit peel lingering.
Overall - A very flavourful, approachable, and sessionable IPA from Banded Peak. I like the concept of this as it brings awareness to a particular landscape that is being severely impacted by climate change. Well done and hopefully others will buy this at their local YYC store to show support for this non-profit organization.
