I had this beer on-tap in a straight sided glass at the brewery.
Appearance: rich dark brown, nearly black hue, with a layer of tan foam and a nice lace on the glass as the head dissipates.
Smell: quite malty with a nice sweetness, although there’s a little bit of, like, a malt-extract type quality there. Not terrible, but it just doesn’t fit with a porter for me.
Taste: sweet malt with a nice combination of caramel, light chocolate, and fruity flavor. Not sure where the fruitiness is coming from, but it is working here.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this porter is on the sweet side for my taste, but at the one-glass quantity, it totally works for me.

Translucent, dark dark brown beer with a nice sticky residue at the tip of the glass - defiitely different from your typical porter. Chocolate, caramel popcorn sort of smell. Surprisingly clean, clear taste that the look alludes to but doesn't do justice. Great beer to introduce someone to the style. Malty but fresh taste, not an over the top flavor, dialed in for smoothness. Hard choice between this and the IPA. Both good representations of the style.
