This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This one smells like dark chocolate, spicy woody bitternes, tobacco, coffee, and vanilla.
This is a really well done barrel aged stout, as stouts from the Westbound and Down/Amalgam family pretty much always tend to be. There's a great barrel character, spicy and complex, with tobacco, cedar, woodiness, rye and vanilla. It however finishes with a very soft melted chocolate sort of flavor on the back end.
This is medium bodied, with very little booziness there, and a nice drinkability overall.
I wish Amalgam released beers with more regularity.
