Look: Mostly clear, slight haze SRM 11 approximately. Haze indicates it was rushed through lagering.
Smell: Smells like it was dry hopped, like sour, floral-like biscuits, which is inappropriate for a Märzen Oktoberfest.
Taste: This beer tasted like eating a noble hop leaf that was soaked in barleywine, then wiped off with a doctor's office isopropyl alcohol pad immediately before consuming. It was astringent with almost no malty profile to speak of, followed by hot alcohol flavor, followed by a strong noble hop aftertaste that lingered. Extremely inappropriate flavors for the style.
Feel: It was hard to tell with the extreme bitter aftertaste that made me wretch every time I took a sip, but very little carbonation or head.
Overall: This is not a good representation of the style. inappropriate flavors, and strong tasting brewing faults make this nearly undrinkable for someone who enjoys the Märzen style and is expecting that style. It's like the recipe was made with Beersmith not realizing there are preferences to change IBU calculations, and they tried to ride the high end of IBUs, but also didn't hit their OG goal, but hopped it like the recipe told them to... I can definitely taste the inexperience.

2019 version
Now in cans I decided to revisit this one. This has improved but falls well short of a true to style Marzen. It has a candy like sweetness to it. Pours a cloudy burgundy color. Sharp with the alcohol. Sweet, rich, candylike flavor with a bit of a booziness to it . That sums it up. I can drink it as a beer but there is work to do still to turn this into a marzen,

2017 version=2.65
L-Brown with cherrywood hues....no head...decent clarity
S-Musty....sour bread....
T-Tough to describe....candied in some way...a little bready....not a bad flavor but pretty muddied up for a Marzen...
F-Muddied...low carbonation....medium bodied....sweet finish
O-This is an Ofest that just doesn't measure up to most of those out there. I've had some good beer from this place so don't take this the wrong way but this kind of like your buddies homebrew effort that turned out pretty good. It just lacks refinement. Not terrible as a beer but not real good for the style..
