After a night enjoying Kalamazoo Bell's amber, this one just did not stack up. Actually can smell and taste the alcohol with this one, I would be interested in knowing its ABV. No real carbonation or head to speak of. Probably my least favorite from the sampler of seven selections.

It is a red bodied brew with a thin head that has moderate carbonation, decent retention and good lacing, The smell was a little bit of caramel and butterscotch, but smell was very weak. The taste was caramel, butterscotch, and some hops. The taste seemed very watered down, and could taste the alcohol in this brew. The mouthfeel was a soft medium feel and even though I didn't care for it, it was drinkable.

Red amber beer with a small white head, low amounts of carbonation. I usually like low amount of carbonation, because I can taste the flavor but there was not a lot of strong flavor to speak of, small suttle carmel and toffee hints. It had a kind of Tea aftertaste which was not bad, but diffrent. Overall and average red ale.

Clear, ruby red amber with a thin white head and medium-low carbonation. Again, lots of caramel, butterscotch, toffee aroma (secondary to the yeast strain used) with little to no hop nose. Biscuity, roasted barley malt graininess with a sweet malt background and a mild bittering hop, semi-astringent finish. Soft mouthfeel. Mild fusel alcohols start to show half way though, but don't really become obstrusive. A decent example of the style.
