473ml can - a collaboration with Dandy Brewing, and made with rye. Some very difficult to discern script on the label, especially if one is not familiar with Dutch.

This beer pours a clear, dark bronzed amber colour, with three hefty fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly beige head, which leaves a bit of streaky forked lightning lace around the glass as it slowly melts away.

It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, brown sugar syrup, some mixed black stone fruitiness, a hint of wayward yeast, and very tame earthy, musty, and dead floral hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy cereal malt, a hint of rye spiciness, plum, bruised apple, and plump raisin fruity notes, faint estery yeast, and more understated leafy, musky, and gently perfumed floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly lean in its bored-seeming frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and mostly smooth, but for a sense of alcohol intrusion about to go down. It finishes well off-dry, the malt pretty much running the lingering racket.

Overall - this comes across as a competently rendered version of the style, generally balanced, if maybe a tad skewed to the sweet side of things, but that's all right. Easy enough to put back, and not too complicated, except maybe in reading the name, which seems to translate to something like 'a couple of guys'.

A collab brew with Dandy.

Appearance - Pours a warm chestnut with two fingers of chestnut head,

Smell - earthy and leafy hops, fruity esters of fig, plum, and raisin, hint of caramel, bready malts, and earthy yeast.

Taste - earthy and leafy hops upfront. Then it goes quickly into the fruity esters of fig, plum, and raisin which are quite mild. The hint of caramel, bready malts, and earthy yeast round out the brew.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth with the fruity esters lingering.

Overall - A belgian dubbel that needs some oomph from the fruity esters. This is a respectable brew but needs some fine tuning to be a stand out.
