On tap at Oak and Stone. This is a pleasant entry into the red ale category. Very malty with hints of butterscotch. Very smooth and essentially no hops notes - which is as it should be for this category.

Decent offering from another FLA West Coast brewer...
Though Irish Reds are not my sought after style, I do like to partake as often as the opportunity arises. I have found this Irish Red to be a solid enough entry - not spectacular mind you - just solid, enjoyable, and something I would not hesitate reaching for moving forward. About the only thing I did not enjoy was its sent - keep your nose out of it, and you'll be fine.

Poured from a freshness dated 12 oz. can: very dark hue like a coca-cola with ruby highlights. The quickly receding white head left no lacing.
Aromatics include caramel and faint hops.
Now, this is quite a strong and full-bodied Irish ale compared to the few I have sampled in the past. An almost chewy mouthfeel is followed by flavors of molasses, caramel and faint, roasted coffee. If memory serves me, the Irish ales I tried were somewhat one dimensional and light, albeit quite enjoyable. According to the brewery's website, this ale is 5.5 percent ABV, not 4.5 as presented on beer advocate.
This was a pleasant surprise.
