Sufferfest Beer Co. "Repeat"
12 fl. oz. can "PKGD 080219C11:20"

Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a little bit of a weird beer, but in a good way. It's brewed with beer pollen, crafted to remove gluten, and contains only 95 calories. It's poured a hazy golden body beneath a short head of bright white foam. The aroma is fruity with citrus and orchard fruits, floral, and lightly bready but there's also something else to it that may or may not be from the bee pollen. The flavor follows in the same order as the aroma but with more maltiness in the mix. It's lemony, and a bit grassy as well. A moderate bitterness balances it, and along with a light acidity it finishes dry with just a touch of fruit and floral character lingering. In the mouth it's light to light-medium in body and gently bristling on the tongue. The head held up fairly well and it's left some spots and splashes of lacing but not much more than a standard beer would have. In the end it's a decent, highly drinkable and refreshing beer.

DATE: August 26, 2021... OCCASION: a hot, beautiful night deserves a thirst-quenching ale... GLASSWARE: Saranac willibecker... pours a hazy golden yellow body that supports a foamy, craggy white head--what one might say "beer" generally looks like... its body teems with tiny bubbles, thought they can only be seen with close examination... as it pours, the honey and noble hops ting and pop, with some lemon grass and subdued flower aromas.... its body is slammable, textured lightly at the teeth and thin throughout... its finish is a bit dry, but a twist of honey and lemon leave something to desire in the next sip... white grape, honey, hay, funky bread yeast, light tropical accents, and earthiness make this a surprisingly rewarding experience... at 3.5%. crushability is the strongest attribute, but for a gluten-free offering, this can a beer to take to barbecues... but, disclosure: this beer was canned August 22, 2019. That said, how sad that this brewery has suffered its last brews--I would have loved to have more of their offerings on the east coast... at least I was able to experience this one and will definitely head back to Shop Rite to grab the last available sixes...

for me this was a good low carb beer but not anything special. Clean fresh taste and finish but hardly worth the $13.49 a six pack price. If the price doesnt bother you and you like this style then go for it. But Ive picked up 24 packs of other low carb beers for less.than the cost of one six pack of this. On sale of course. Depends on what you like and want to spend I guess.

Can. Pours quite clear. Rich golden color. Thin, fizzy head. Not much lacing. Smells of soft Kolsch elements. Floral and bready. Very clean smelling. Hoping I don't sneeze because of the bee pollen ;) It has a very approachable aroma and I could see this being something that would appeal to the runner/athletes/health conscious. The flavor is actually more intense that I was expecting. A tanginess is the first thing that hits the palate. Then beyond that, and more noticeably in ensuing sips, you get the grains, the malt, the light noble hop. Actually fairly impressed with the flavor. There isn't much lingering on the tongue; it drops clean off, in fact. Really light and enjoyable. Energetic carbonation. Here I was thinking I would hate this beer because of it's marketing angle and it's attempts to reduce gluten. It's actually a pretty impressive brew.

Clear honey in body with white bubbly head that stays. Aroma of honey grain, light citrus, lemon cookie, apples. Tastes of honey grain, apples, lemon cookie, watered down juice box, with a fresh bitter dryness towards the finish. Light bodied with medium carbonation.

APPEARANCE: Clean golden, with a thick head of off-white suds. Limited lace.

AROMA: Toasty, grainy, and a touch of hops.

TASTE: Clean and malty but not sweet, thankfully. Nice body and not thin nor watery, especially for a lo-cal beer. Decent.

From the can, it pours a mostly clear, brassy golden color. A fluffy and pillowy frothy head, about a thumb’s length, shows good retention.

Sweet grainy malt aromas, honey like as well as dry cracker. There are also aromas of fruity and floral hops.

Light bodied with a crisp mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Dry palate with a crisp cracker malt backbone and bright lemony and grassy and spicy hops flavors. The finish is very dry and with a moderate bitterness.

Overall, a relatively non complex Kolsch. I usually am not a fan of low calorie brews, however, this one is very refreshing and quaffable.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a pint glass.
Appears slightly hazy yellow with a nice foamy head that lasted.
Smells lightly bready, citrusy, floral.
Taste follows the nose.
Taste follows the nose, with some light sweetness, enough hoppiness to keep my interest.
Mouth feel is medium for the style with good carbonation.
Overall lacks some of the character of a great Kolsch, but I would definitely drink again.
Cheers!
