Winter Weisse

500ml bottle here in Bavaria. Porsche a hazy Orange. Aroma is heavy candy, yeast & citrus. Taste is strong but a little off, not in harmony. A let down after the Aroma.

 

November 2015: 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.7%. Cloudy brownish-yellow colour, large white head. Slightly darker than your typical hefeweizen, but not nearly as dark as a dunkelweizen. Typical hefeweizen aroma of cloves and banana, also citrus. Cloves, banana and citrus in the slightly sweet flavour too. Except for the slightly darker colour and slightly higher ABV, there is nothing particularly "wintery" about this beer - it is a more than decent hefeweizen, worthy to drink at any time of the year.

From the bottle, it pours a hazy amber with a modest, for a weisse, head that slowly diminishes and leaves lacing. Primarily bready in the nose, it does not have the classic banana taste either, but it is acceptable.
