Enjoy the canned version of our Maltings Irish Ale. Our classic ruby ale with deep malt, combining rich biscuit and gentle caramel notes.
Visual: Rich ruby red color with good foam.
Aroma: Malt and fruit taste balance of blended malt, with hop bitterness, good body with a dry finish.

Copenhagen 12/4 2026. 44 cl can from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Red can with a simple drawing of an old town skyline.

Pours dark mahogany with a red hue. Mid-sized off-white head. Stable. Settles as a several centimeters thick layer of foam obscuring the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet odor of toasted malts mingling with sourish notes. Caramel and toffee. Hazel nut. Whiff of alcohol and sour grains.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, gets tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is a bit tart and bitter with a light sweet undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.

A fine red and roasted brew.

On draught at the Yard House.
A very dark Amber/Ruby colored pour.
A decent tan head, that yields only a little lacing.
Toasted earthy barley malt, biscuits, dark caramel, supple chocolate notes. Pleasant hops bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel.

(review from March 2023) Solid, well balanced red with nice mouthfeel; a very clean, malty/bready-biscuity/toasty flavor and a quick-fading, slightly grainyish aftertaste. Much lighter and less sweet than others. Incredibly smooth and quaffable, bordering on slammable.

A very complex beer with a bit of cream, a bit of hops, a bit of malt, and a touch of smoke. It all goes together with near perfect balance.

Pours a crystal clear ruby color with a foamy khaki colored head that leaves a nice cap on the body of the beer and provides moderate lacing. Gorgeous Irish Red Ale.

The nose features toasty English biscuit aromas, along with some caramel, and fruity hops for balance. Wow.

The taste is led by that toasty English biscuit flavor, which is absolutely delicious, followed by a nice caramel note and fruity hops on the finish that impart a subtle bitterness.

The mouthfeel is medium and dry, perfect for this magnificent, world class (IMHO) Irish Red Ale.

Appearance: Dark, ruby read. Frothy khaki head with excellent retention.

Aroma: Toast and herbal

Flavor: Malt forward, toast, light caramel, spicy/herbal hops. Semi-sweet. Moderate bitterness.

Mouth feel: Full bodied and creamy. Dry bitter finish.

Overall: Very enjoyable. I haven't had too many in this style but this one is top notch. Malt forward, semi-sweet, with some herbal/spicy hops. I also get some grassy notes. Bitterness kicks in mid drink and lingers in to a dry finish.

Pours out a nice dark brownish/reddish color with a thick off white head that provides some good lacing.
The fruity aromas overpower the malts just a bit, I pick up what I can only describe as roasted caramel.
The taste is more bitter than I expected for this style, not bad, sweet overall almost like a dark chocolate bitterness to it.
The mouthfeel is dry, it has a semi crisp feel and is pretty smooth overall.
Very interesting overall, don't pass it up if you see this one.
