£ 1.85/500 mL, best before Nov 19, at a random stop’N’rob, Kirkwall, Scotland.
Appearance – 3.
Body – Gold, clear, some effervescence.
Head – Large (Maximum 6.3 cm, controlled center pour), white, low density froth, poor retention, diminishing rapidly to seven to ten mm ring and a complete layer. Some tiny islands of froth remain on the inside of the glass.
Lacing – Poor. See above.
First pour – Light yellow, clear.
Aroma – 2.75 - Extremely weak malt and just a hint of hops.
Flavor – 2.75 - Just a bit of hop bite with no discernible flavor. No alcohol, no diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 3 - Medium, watery, lively carbonation.
Impression and summation – 2.75 – Very weak and mild even for an English IPA.

Kinda the way I felt about the majority of the lagers and ales in country- close but no cigar. Not as crisp as you would like. Doesn't pack a punch of flavor in any aspect but not bad. Cool label. Drinkable but just OK

They do a golden ale/session IPA Hopopotamus too but this is for the lager version.

Pours copper tinged gold, light head.

Aroma of grapejuice, fruity, not much like a pils although they do say it is dry hopped. I don't think it works but it's not offensive in any way

Taste is full on grapejuice, mildly bitter middle, tart dry finish. Again, it doesn't really work

swing and a miss although if you want a grapejuice (not wine) flavoured beer I couldn't recommend this enough
