The beer is names after an old Scottish Landlady and her pub, the rear label tells one all about it, an interesting tale.
Anyway, this review is of a 500ml brown bottle, poured into an 'Old Speckled Hen' badged pint vase.
The beer is a ruby red colour, clear and clean looking. A weak tan coloured head sat on top, the head giving some, but not much lacing.
The smell and taste was of malt molasses, too sweet for my normal palate, even though I prefer the sweeter beers.
The body wasn't rich enough, lacking in depth to the carry off the 6%ABV, a strange brew.
Didn't really take to it, but nothing wrong, just my tastebuds not fitting in with the brewers vision of the beers strenghts.
