Pours a clear dark ruby with soapy tan head.
Smell is malty, roasted and slightly spicy. Notes of pumpernickel, rye, dried fruit and toffee.
Taste is malty and roasted with some spicy hints. Notes of brown bread, rye, tobacco, dried fruit and some toffee. Moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, soft, smooth and well carbonated.
Overall, a terrific, flavorful Scotch ale.
