A wonderful combination beer hall and Biergarten, a rare find in the are. The ambiance and styling model after true German beer halls (with a south-german bent). They brew an impressive array of their beers on site, with a wide variety of authentic German styles executed very well, as well as some more unique offerings (their series of semi-seasonal barrel-aged doppelbocks are particularly impressive). Their attached kitchen means it efficiently doubles as an impressive eatery, with some of the best German food in the region - their schnitzel is a perennial favorite. Overall, it is a wonderful family-friendly beerhall/restaurant, of the kind the US has far too few of.

Combines a pretty spacious beer hall with a very pleasant beer garden. Quite family friendly in the style of real German beer gardens. Can be loud sometimes inside, although upstairs is generally better. Attached Schnitzel Kitchen offers variety of german snacks (pretzels, sausage, etc.) and dinner items (schnitzel, sauerbraten, etc.) plus pizzas. My whole family enjoys their schnitzel. Offers 32 taps between the hall and garden, usually about ⅔ are various german styles brewed on site, and the remainder non-german styles, ciders, etc. so the beer selection is very diverse. Schulz Bräu's own beers are generally quite good, at least the heavies ones that I prefer, and tend to be pretty true to style. I really like their barrel-aged offerings (in season). They offer a surprising variety of different german beers aged in a variety of barrels. All in all, between the food and the beer, it's one of my family's favorite places for dinner in Knoxville, especially if the weather's right to sit outside.

Brewery is in a faux Bavarian castle, very touristy with more than a few deer racks adorning the walls. Massive taproom, with L-shaped bar that seats 15. Tables, inside and out - a pool table, haven't seen one of them in a while. 16 German style beers on tap, 4 guest taps. Stoic service. I did not try the food.
