Poured stout black and was capped briefly by a brown head that reached the dizzying heights of 1 cm before tiring out and settling down into a ring around the surface that left no lacing.
Aroma lost on me, stupid Covid.
The taste may have been affected by the length of time in my cellar as no hops or other bitterness was present at all. Just chocolate and mild coffee with a variety of ripe dark fruits. Darn near sweet.
No carbonation to break the cloying nature of the taste.
OA, at the time I really enjoyed it but I think it would be better fresher and (hopefully) more balanced.

Picked this up recently at Joe Canal's in Woodbridge since it's still winter and I love my Stouts during the colder months! It was in the teens tonight here and although this wasn't one of the more notable examples of the style that I've had lately, this was just enough to hit the spot and go down relatively easily...
Of course, this poured dark but the tan head was quite thin and there wasn't *any* lacing left behind once I started to sip it. Lot of coffee, roasted malt, and dark and bitter chocolate in the subdued nose as the booze kicked in on the palate. No motor oil here as this felt like a regular or coffee stout that was a tad too strong with the cloying nature of a breakfast stout being this beer's hallmark mouthfeel. Lots of stickiness in the back and on my lips as the underlying sweetness helped to take the edge off of this, and almost made it feel freshly brewed...
Indeed, the heft's here and I warmed up nicely as I sipped this but this almost seemed categorized incorrectly on here. No easily readable dated was printed on the bottom of the can as there was just a series of letters and numbers that was probably a code for distributors or retailers. While not a disappointment, there are better examples of the style available this time of the year and this was just enough to satisfy me without being particularly memorable. Just a bit of sediment at the bottom of the liquid and a hint of coffee leftover after I finished this off reminded me that this had a lot of potential, but was fine to kick back with as I kept the label for my burgeoning collection.

You would not guess that this clocks in at 13%. Pours deep brown/black with a thin tan head. Aroma is mild boozy and roasted malts. Taste is decent with roasted notes and dark chocolate, not as complex as I would expect from a RIS, but good. Feel is good, nice body and mouthfeel but not overly viscous as other RIS I've had. Overall it's a good stout and very easy to drink considering the 13%.

VERY coffee-forward, and a little more bitter than sweet...ABV is completely hidden. Overall a nice after dinner brew
