This looks as bad as it can get for an alleged IPA. The foam at the top, stark white as usual, is at the ridiculous level. As usual, it recedes unevenly and unattractively, leaving sporadic glass lacing. Otherwise, it has the color and density of an American Adjunct Lager. There's only a mild citrus-like hop character to the aroma. It's lightly bodied and only mildly hopped, although the hops come through as earthy, rather than citrusy. Whatever, there's nothing outstanding here. Maybe that includes the negatives, at least after the visual. Recommendation? Don't bother.

Solid wast coast IPA. Hoppy, bitter, piney. Good beer.

Picked this up recently at ShopRite Liquors in Little Falls, having never seen this beer from Jughandle before. Not a lot of breweries in these parts attempt a West Coast IPA but this one was a decent take on the style that wasn't overly boozy and checked off all of the proverbial boxes at the same time, although I wouldn't mistake this for anything from Sierra Nevada or Lagunitas!
This had a typical look for a beer of this type as the liquid was a hazy honey with a lot of bubbly columns scattered through it. A moderate head topped it off and although it settled quickly, there was a thin cap of foam that lasted throughout my time with this. A thick and uneven ring of lacing remained near the top but below that, it was quite uneven while still covering quite a bit of my pint glass along the lower third. Lots of melon, dry white cheese, exotic fruit, and earthy hops in the nose as the taste had the more typical pine that I'd expect from a left coast brew. A hint of sap combined with herbal tea, subtly cutting citrus, and dank tropical fruit rounded out this beer as it was nicely carbonated, medium in body, and left a dank tingle on my palate once this fully went down.
No burn from the hops was present and the same could be said for the booze as this was just a step or two above session beer level. This was a tad too spicy and medicinal for me to rate higher but there was plenty to enjoy here, although I wish the writing on the bottom was more clear when it came to figuring the age of this beer as this only said "20-12TS11". I wouldn't consider this an IPA but it had enough going for it that on a mellow night, I'd reach for it again and stare at the lovely label as I pondered tomorrow...

16 ounce can in a nonic pint glass.
Clean see through liquid gold color with a 1f foamy white cap. The cap won’t quit and leaves sticky web lacing.
Pine sap and orange squeeze. Caramel malt and a touch of medicinal alcohol.
Pine and slightly sweet orange. Astringent, herbal and tea-like.
Medium bodied with a little chewiness. Hop bite and dry finish.
All around west coast ipa.

1st Review.3rd from brewer in my home county, Monmouth, NJ, a great place to live. Fresh from WFM.
a) Solid clear gold body, shiny, with cables of lace and a lasting rim.
s) More marmalade, syrup, rind, with a bit of cedar and pine, less tropical etc.
t) Sweet, but tempers down in finale. Sharp, fresh, juicy hop flavors, sharp as a laser.
f) A pungent, trick mouth feel matches the laser sharp hops.
