Germany and America meet. A mix of German and American light and crystal malts blend together beautifully to create and incredibly well-balanced. Refreshing with just the right amount of caramel sweetness and handsome crimson color. A mix of you guessed it, German and American hops finishes this beer up perfectly.

they had this one listed at 7% abv when i visited the laramie location, but either way, its a nice beer. a big sturdy red amber lager, more fall and winter than spring and summer, but a reliable year round brew from these guys, a mass appeal thing but also more interesting than most in this space, and not just because its a little stronger. deep mahogany even crimson color to this, short but lasting off white head, good clarity, a low glow to it. aroma is nutty and long boiled to me, almost a caramelized thing, but not overly rich and sweet, with some bready yeast balancing it out and a little bittering hop as well, simple but not boring, hearty and earthy. the flavor hints at toffee, hazelnut, and raisin, some warmth to the grain but no sign of the stronger alcohol content, an almost irish red vibe with this malt and yeast together, fresh baked, hearty but not heavy, and drier than many of its peers to finish, toasted, even a pinch of cocoa to it, deep for the style. not really sure it makes itself obvious as a lager, i can taste some yeast but its mild enough and obscured by the grain enough that it could also be english or irish ale, nothing cold or snappy about it, and even though the malt hits like a vienna lager, the yeast really doesnt. cohesive and fuller bodied but lively feeling, really well made, perhaps just different enough to rise above all the riff raff in this style. one of the better beers i have had from these guys from a quality standpoint.

Billed as an "ember." I don't know if that was a misspelling or if they were trying to be cute.
The pour is amber and lightly hazy with a nice head. The aroma is bready and toasty with minimal hops. The flavor is kind of similar to Leinenkugel's old "North Woods Lager" but this one has some not-so-great sour nodes on the finish.
I think I understand what they were going for here, and while it's not perfectly composed it's still drinkable.

Enjoyed on tap at Rio Sabinas in Billings, Montana. Free sample.
Nice amber color, mostly clear. Not much head due to pour. Smells like melons. Tastes like toasted grains, mild dark fruit, natural and artificial melon and cucumber. Nice leathery to dank to perfumy hops. Medium in body. Layer of softer, sparser suds. Layer of tighter, tinier tingles. How's that for alliteration? A very well-accomplished beer overall.

On draught at Old Chicago. Pours crimson red, some bubble action, small head of foam and lacing. Smells of caramel, earthy malt, nice Amber Lager nose. Tastes like a well made Amber Lager. All of the above..
