australian style lager here, not sure what that really means, ringwood hops maybe, but this is light and bright and easy for summer, without feeling oversimplified like a lot of pale lagers do, a something for everyone kind of craft beer, but unique enough to be slightly nerdy too, i like this sort of thing. its golden honey colored, not too light in the glass, not much body but i like it having just a bit of color, average white head on it from the tap at their laramie taproom. surprised this has a little more grain oomph to it than expected, its short of nutty but lightly toasted to me, baked, full of minerals, dry but not minimal, and the hops start a little earlier than is the norm in these, herbal in the middle, more bitter later on, a green tea note there, maybe light lemon too, a hint of something metallic late as well but it doesnt seem to be from the yeast, which is mellow here. nice bitterness to this, crisps it up even though the malt flavor is a little more robust, and the yeast almost tastes english to me, weirdly. cool mix of flavors, light but decidedly unconventional in this space, great carbonation and a nice beer with their pizza in here. neat to see something more ambitious like this from these guys, i have mostly tried staple styles from them before now...
