Copenhagen 16/5 2019. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Silhouette of Heron with outstretched wings in purple on the label.

Pours hazy, golden yellow with a big white head. Settles as 5 cm thick crown of fluffy foam. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is acerbic, fruity and citric. A bit subdued. Light odor of perfumes, sweet fruit. Peach and mango. Stronger odor of citrus and lime.

Strong carbonation. Thin, fizzy and lively texture.

Flavor is lightly sweet followed by a stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is acidic and bitter. Lingers for a short while. Finish is dry.

The nose is weak but a fine bitter and dry flavor.

Decent New England IPA. It lacks some of the fruity notes and pine touch I've come to expect of the style, going for grassy instead, but it's smooth, pretty tasty, and goes down well. Had this by the bottle at a restaurant in Malmö, Sweden.

Pours a hazy orange with thick, soft head.

Smell is bright and citrusy with some tropical juice and pine in the background.

Taste is very citrusy with some piney resin and notes of strawberries leading into a moderate bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall, this is a very Swedish take on a NE IPA. They tend to be more bitter and lack the fluffiness of the American forebearers, and that is very true here. This is sort of a hybrid between NE and regular American IPA. Tasty, still.
