A classic taste for their inaugural beer, the Life brewing folks get going by revisiting history, one where malts are fortified, hops are balancing and a host of understated yeast complexities offer uniqueness, intrigue and subtlety.

Golden at its edges yet copper down the middle, the lightly hazy ale crowns with a creamy eggshell foam. Fruity and biscuity, its balanced scent is of citrus, stone fruit and a rich toasty and nutty upstart. Sweet on the early palate, a tease of light toffee, honey and marmalade greet the tongue before the hops arrive.

And the balance comes as the ale traverses the middle palate as the sweetness slowly lifts and the hops bring bold aspects of freshly zested oranges and pink grapefruit. Apricot and mango bring a pleasant jammy fruitiness as the ale crispens and hop bitterness brings a broad spruce, nutty and woodsy taste to close the session in an even keel fashion.

Medium bodied but seemingly fuller in taste but crisper in body as the rich malts linger with nutty pecan, light toast and a caramelized granola character. Tea-like in finish, the sharpness of sassafras tease the late palate with a mellow grip on the throat that lasts into a medium length aftertaste.
