Mahogany body, relatively clear, with a small off white head and little in the way of lacing. You can smell the coffee (well, espresso, since it's on the label) as soon as you lift the glass. Dig just a bit deeper for the nutty, roasty, malt dominated olfactory experience. Earthy, roasted malt flavor. Coffee still a major contributor. A modest nod to bittersweet chocolate. Hard to pinpoint the hops; floral, to a degree. Pleasant aftertaste.

A thanks to the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz, can, Has a dark brown color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of coffee, nuts, hints of chocolate. Taste is strong coffee, little else. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Welcome back for Round 2 of New Oliver, The Belz Are Ringing Beer Sunday (Week 710) brought to you by Peter Belz of Shangy's Distributing in Emmaus, Steve Jones of Oliver Brewing Co. in Baltimore, MD & The CANQuest (tm)! Today is going to be a great one for drinking & reviewing a horizontal of Oliver BC CANs.
From the CAN: "Destroy Responsibly"; "This CAN contains Creator/Destroyer, a full bodied Nut Brown Ale created with cold brewed Destroyer Espresso from Ceremony Coffee Roasters. Oliver Brewing Co. has been proudly brewing craft beer in Baltimore, MD since 1993."
The astute reader/observer/follower of my nonsense will remember that brewer Steve Jones is a British expat & as such, he has a propensity towards brewing English-style beers. This is just one example, but indicative of things to come.
I Crack!ed open the vent & began a Gussie Glug into the C of the glass, allowing the head to charge up, full foam ahead. I was pleasantly surprised to see it morph into a pseudo-cascade, eventually forming two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with decent retention. Color was Brown to Dark Brown (SRM = > 22, < 27) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was rich with dark coffee, caramel, toffee, treacle & baker's chocolate. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was initially rich with coffee, but slowly giving 'way to dark chocolate, treacle, caramel & toffee. 8=O Mosdef an English version, but I wonder what an American hop-forward version might be like. Come in, Steve Jones! This makes me long for my morning cuppa but it's too early for actual coffee. Finish was semi-dry to dry with a lingering espresso flavor. This would be a great brunch beer!
BTW, @Feel_the_Darkness found it in Cask format. Come in, Steve Jones! Would you send this for the GEN Sutter Cask Fest?!?

Strong coffee flavor but the brown ale's flavors are there at the finish. Comparable in my mind to Founders Sumatra Brown. Well done to the local guys Oliver Brewing

Had this on Tap at Pratts Ale House in Baltimore. It was super tasty! Nice mix of coffee into the brew.

On nitro.
3.66/5: Nose is muted as expected, but the flavor is loaded with espresso (yet the base beer balances it well)
