3.72/5: Bracingly bitter, like an old-school IPA...but the subtle hint of dark malts make it a more-than-solid example of the style

Very dark and rich. Bitter, with pine and chocolate and a Smokey nose. Feels more like a stout than anything else. Very interesting beer with a lot of layers. I def like it, but can say for sure it isn’t for everyone.

Pretty dang black. Nice tan head, good lace
Herbal, piney, dank hops followed up by chocolaty malt
Wow. Kinda got the hop character of an overcharged early 2000s IPA (lots of pine, herbal, and some citrus rind qualities, WAY bitter) with the roast character of a dry stout. I dig it
Mediumish body with lowish carbonation. Suits the beer
This beer definitely isn't for everybody, but I really dig it. Scores don't necessarily reflect that.
